Making a difference

Gifted more than $1 million dollars to causes

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin utilizes the monies raised each year for dual purposes, to support an Endowment Fund that provides ongoing support in perpetuity and a Usage Fund in which WHG allocates support to several of the programs throughout the health system.

Their mission spells CARE: Caregiving – offering some of the nation’s best medical care; Advocacy – speaking up and protecting children; Research – finding cures to the illnesses that affect children; Education – sharing what we learn and teaching others to care for kids. The work that they do has personally touched the lives of many of WHG’s team members and guests in their remarkable work. They have quickly become a part of the WHG family.

Throughout the last 16 years, through the funds raised by the WHG franchise Apple Hospitality Group and through the generosity of customer donations, the company has raised more than $1.3 million in combined gifts, including this last year’s donation of over $113,000 which was presented to the hospital’s Foundation team on November 4, 2014 at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  In 2015, the WHG Applebee’s restaurants and the corporate golf outing raised $81, 674.30.

“The philanthropic efforts of Wisconsin Hospitality Group / Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar have truly touched lives statewide.  Through Applebee’s support of programs such as Act Now, our patient prom and the Wisconsin Poison Center in addition to numerous other programs, the quality of life for Wisconsin families has improved considerably.  Applebee’s has truly been an agent of change in the neighborhood.”
