Contributions to a cancer center and local research

Wisconsin Hospitality Group LLC (WHG) and its 36 Wisconsin-based Applebee’s restaurants, presented a check for $40,000 to ProHealth Care earlier this year representing funds raised during the inaugural Apples for a Cure campaign in 2014.

Now in its second year, Apples for a Cure is targeted to raise $350,000 during the five year campaign through the sales of the campaign’s official ribbons and food/drink specials in October.  The charity partnership between WHG and ProHealth Care will focus on utilizing 100% of the campaign’s net proceeds towards funding for a national designated cancer genetics research project, along with the ongoing support of state-of-the-art breast imaging services.

The 2017 Apples for a Cure campaign runs from October 2nd through October 29th at all WHG Applebee's restaurants. Proceeds from discounted food and drink items and campaign items will go to breast cancer causes. The 2016 Apples for a Cure campaign raised $30,831 with help from guests at all 35 WHG Applebee's restaurants. The donations benefited a collaborative cancer genetics research project with City of Hope and continued to support state-of-the-art breast imaging services.
